Our Story
Next to Nature Landscape LLC was founded in 2002 by Wayne Barber and David Ward. In a very short amount of time Next to Nature has become the standard for high-end commercial and residential maintenance and landscape services in the Kansas City area. We specialize in maintaining commercial and residential properties and provide turf, tree, and shrub application programs, and snow removal. We install upscale landscapes, outdoor living spaces, lighting, and irrigation systems. The company began with 5 full-time employees and now employees more than 180 peak-season employees. Our management team has over 75 years of experience in the green industry and a combined tenure of more than 50 years with Next to Nature. Together we have built a team of landscape professionals with proven success in recruiting local talent.
